Lil Wayne and Young Money Touring Inc. are suing their former booking agent Ujaama Talent Agency Inc. For $375,000. He’s worked with them on four different tours and is owed money from his America’s Most Wanted Music Festival. A dispute broke out between them in the fall of 2009, which happened right around the same time Weezy pleaded guilty for gun possession charges in October 09. Lil Wayne never received payment so is suing for the money he is owed from the tour. It’s good to see him suing someone for a change instead of being the one sued.
Lil Wayne’s fifth letter came out on his fan site from his time at Rikers Island where he is doing time for a gun possession. He shouts out to some fans including Lindsey Lohan and tells fans he should have written her.
He says, “Last night, I kicked ass in UNO! Anyways, that’s neither here nor there. Just thought I’d let ya’ll know. Gotta stay hydrated. Though it’s hot, I still work out. Now don’t be expecting me to look like Hercules when I get out, but I should be a little bulky.”
TMZ has obtained a copy of Lil Wayne’s food order a Rikers Island last month. Some of the highlights on his list are beef sticks, Nacho Cheese Doritos, chocolate chip cookies, Ramen soup and Kool Aid. With all his bulking up, Weezy’s gotta be hungry.
Weezy’s manager says he hasn’t paid her since 2005.
Although Lil Wayne is serving his time in jail, he can’t seem to escape the barrage of lawsuits aimed at him. This week, his former manager Melissa Philipian sued the rapper for $500,000 on top of the 15 percent of his estimated $200 million earnings five years ago.
In 2005, Philipian was reportedly fired by Lil Wayne for booking what he felt to be a sub-par hotel room. In April 2006, she sued Wayne for failing to pay the amount even after having signed a three-year agreement, and booking 21 shows. Weezy claimed that he never signed a contract with Philipian and that she forged his signature. The matter was later settled out of court for $375,000.
However, a YouTube video has recently emerged , suggesting that Wayne lied under oath and in fact did owe Philipian the stated amount. The video includes an old interview with Wayne in which he acknowledges Philipian as his manager and cites the many things she had accomplished for him. The former manager has filed a new lawsuit, accusing Lil Wayne, Cash Money, and Universal Music Group of fraud, tortious interference, civil conspiracy, and breach of contract.
Cash Money has not yet reacted to these allegations… Although earlier this week Birdman bought himself a brand new Bugatti Veyron
With about 4 months served, Weezy checks in for a 4th time since beginning his sentence. In a new letter, Wayne let the world know that he’s holding up just fine, explained his daily schedule and talked about the true impact that the support from his fans is having on him.
Read his new letter below….
Hello world… I’m good. Counting the days and still smiling. Most of those smiles come from hearing my kids’ voices over the phone. The others come from reading fan mail. Let me just say that I have the best fans in the world! The devotion, dedication, support, love, and most of all, prayers are simply the best. I never imagined that I could have such an impact on people’s lives. Because of this, I vow to be a bit more careful of what I say.
So I’ve been writing and let me be the first to tell you that the lyrics that I’m writing are… well there’s no word that I can think of that properly defines them. Amazing would be too typical and perfect would be unfair. I listen to the radio sometimes, emphasis on sometimes, and I hear the new music. I like some. I applaud my Young Money family for what they’re doing. As I’m not surprised. This is what we’re supposed to do. Congrats to Drake and Nicki for all their recent success. Those 2 are going to have me retiring early. I love my team. Much love to Tez and Mack. I know that people are inquisitive of what I do all day, so here goes. I wake up around 11AM. Have some coffee. Call my kids, and my wonderful mother. I then shower up. Read fan mail. Have lunch. Back on the phone. Read a book or write some thoughts down. Have dinner. Phone. Pushups. Then I listen to ESPN on the radio. Read the bible, then sleep. That’s my day.
I’ll end this letter, but never my love. I’m gone. Oh, and how ‘bout dem Lakers!?!
P.S. I thank my fans for appreciating me the way you do.
Here’s he new video for Lil Wayne’s “Knockout” feating our luvvvuurrr Nicki Minaj! Hard to believe Weezy’s even in jail with all the new material he’s been releasing.
Best rapper alive?… Who could argue against it at this point?
So according to some VERY credible sources, Lil Wayne got into it with another inmate after only being in jail for a few short weeks.
We don;t know what it was about but neither Weezy or the other guy were backing down and almost went at it until a bunch of other inmates ran in and broke it up.
Weezy better straighten up if he wants to get out on that 8 month early release program! Not to mention, Wayne;s small as fuck and from what we’re told, the guy he was getting into it with was about twice his size.. Weezy woulda been made a bitch!
According to AllHipHop News Lil Wayne’s seventh studio album Rebirth has officially been certified Gold (500,000 copies) by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).
Despite numerous delays, the album managed to debut at #1 onBillboard’s Rap Album chart upon its release in February.
“I have evolved both lyrically and musically as an artist and I want everyone to hear my growing pains,” Lil Wayne said of the album, which he labeled his “best work yet.”
The latest singles from Rebirth are “Drop the World” featuring Universal label mate Eminem and “Knock Out” featuring hisYoung Money artist, Nicki Minaj.
